Its Tuesday the 16th day of December 2014. *************************************************************************** Weather Forcast *************************************************************************** A surface trough extends from a low in the southern Coral Sea to the northern tropics and through to the Gulf Country. A stable airmass extends through much of the state. Instability will increase yet again from Tuesday however as a series of troughs move through central and southern Queensland. A trough should move eastwards over the southern interior of Queensland, increasing instability. The atmosphere will be relatively dry, though there should be sufficient moisture for the trough to trigger some showers and thunderstorms through western Queensland and the southern and southeast interior, possibly extending to the southern coast at night. Showers and thunderstorms also remain likely in the far north of the state, with fine and mostly sunny conditions expected elsewhere. Temperatures will increase to well above the December average in the south and west of the state. ----------------------------------------------- Australian Synoptic Chart Summary ----------------------------------------------- A trough will direct hot winds across NSW and QLD, while triggering a few thundery showers. Another trough in the west will produce a few showers and storms across the interior and the northern tropics.
