Good Morning Relatives & Friends. Here we are into the 4th day of a new year. Some of you made New Year Resolutions, I hope your words & actions will be powerful to accomplish your set resolutions. Today, we are gathering to celebrate the first laugh of my 3 month old nali. Our Dine/Navajo culture is awesome. We celebrate the major milestones of our child development. Prior to the birth, the mother undergoes the beautyway ceremony to ensure a healthy child and healthy delivery. When the child is born, the center of the head is turned towards the fire. First laugh is celebrated. When puberty occurs, again a beautyway ceremony is held along with many teachings and running to the East. Through these celebrations, our child feels love - good positive reinforcements. In the life of my nali, we will make sure her milestones are celebrated. You all have a wonderful day.
