Good Morning Skyview Drivers and Fans!!!!!! (well..it might be afternoon or evening before I get this done….SO much to talk about) Margo here with my (last) weekend review. Our final points races of the 2014 season are in the books. (what a sad statement) Time to start working on those tired cars, bikes and sleds to be ready for next season! First off I would like to thank all of you who came out this weekend for the Halloween Classic in honor of Pete Thorton! Thanks also to those of you who were able to contribute to help with his expenses and to Glenna Erecitano for taking up the collections! Thanks to Kathy Kiekel for another great ceremony and for sharing Pete’s letter with us all! OMG it was cold Saturday!!! Still managed to get the Halloween Classic race 1 and the make up race for 9/6 in before we all turned in to popsicles! Thanks Ray Thurston for loaning some gloves (some of us workers weren’t smart enough to bring our own). Sunday’s weather was a definite improvement! No freezing wind and plenty of sunshine for the last day of racing…great way to end the weekend! Halloween Classic: JR Dragster Morgan Burgess had the ONLY perfect light this weekend out of ALL classes - .5000 in 2nd Round Elimination!!!!! The JR Finals had Morgan taking the Win over Hunter Denmark in Day #1 and Abby Hacker taking the Win over Morgan in Day #2. The JR Dragster girls have made a strong showing this season beating out the boys often for the Win and Runner Up!!! Good Job!!!!! Near Perfect lights in Bike/Sled Day #1: Dickie Reome .5020 Semi - Lee Burgess .5010 Time Trials and .5009 2nd Elimination - Brian Moulton .5089 Time Trials - Boyd McGarry .5089 Time Trials (no near perfect lights for day #2). Dickie Reome took his 2nd Win this season and locked up the Bike/Sled Track Championship over Lynn Major on Day #1 and Lee Burgess took the Win over Boyd McGarry on Day #2. Lee Burgess ended his Rookie season well with great lights and 2 Wins…(he also Won the make up race!). Congratulations to all of you!!!!!!! No Near Perfect lights for Street Trophy either day but Rookie John Coleman ended his season on a high note as Runner Up to Tim Wright’s Win Day #1. Mike Ryck took the Win over Joe Patelunas on Day #2. Congrats!!!! Street Money – Day #1 - Near Perfect lights: Mike Ryck .5070 Finals. Mike took the Win over Joe Patelunas. Day #2 Gary French .5001 2nd Elimination, Joe Patelunas .5031 Time Trials, Mike Ryck .5031 Time Trials - Rookie Sarah Ink ended her season with .5001 in Semis and .5099 in the Final taking her First Win ever over “Hot Rod” Sandy Thurston who was celebrating her 1st time in the Finals!! Great Job Ladies!!!!! Mod Trophy had only one entry each day Don Kiekel Day #1 with .5042-.5060-.5069 lights. Jack Reome took his 1st Win of the season over Tom Frank in a nail bitter double red light race! Awesome Racing!!!!! Paul Scribani took his 2nd Win this season over Scott Beasaw!! Doubling: Matt Himes .5080 1st Elimination and .5011 Semis. Bryon Morningstar took his 4th Win of the season over “2014 King of the Ridge” Matt Himes in another of those nail bitter close finishes!!! That’s the way to do it!!! Make up race for 9/6: There weren’t a lot of near perfect lights for the make up race (probably too cold at that point – I’ve heard that some cars have lumbar supports…maybe some heated seats would be good…lol!) Congratulations to all that made it back to finish this race! I would like to congratulate and thank ALL our drivers for an incredible 10th season!!!!! We had sooo many first time career wins, rookie winners, buy back to go on to win finals, best weather (except for the beginning and near the end), biggest Team Skyview for the Bracket Finals, and so much more!!!! We’ve had some sadness too due to injuries and illnesses and departures but the Skyview family was always there for support, love and prayers. I have had the privilege to be part of this great family! I also want to send the biggest THANK YOU to our track crew who kept the show rolling no matter what!!!!!!!
