Good Morning. Started making the cucumber pickle, the only thing I didnt have was mustard seeds but I got some yesterday. Thanks for the recipe Steph, not sure how long you are meant to leave it to pickle but knowing us and our penchant for pickles it wont last that long. Lovely walk this morning, we didnt set of quite as early as yesterday morning so the mist had gone, but it was sunny and quiet warm, we saw what we think was a water vole and I saw a strange bird, it was yellow, at first glance I thought of a domestic canary, I wonder what on earth it was? I hadnt been eating the magic mushrooms so I dont think I was hallucinating. Only eleven weeks till Christmas, the shops are already showing stocks of Christmas items, far too early, it takes away from the festivities to have the season start so early. Just received the vellum and parchment samples from our French artisan, they are the equal of the best I have seen, lovely vellums, and they are going to work out a little cheaper than main stream suppliers so watch this space. All quiet in the kitchen this morning, Ime a little later than usual this morning, the cats have all gone outside, the chickens are doing a little sun bathing and the sheep are being themselves.
