Good Morning. There are times when the Lord seems to take a long time to answer our prayers and we may feel that some things are impossible for Him to do. In Luke 1 the barren Elizabeth thought that she would never have a child. But God showed her that this would not be the case. You see, God placed Elizabeth and Zacharias in a position where they could not take any glory for the birth of John. They were reminded in verse 37 that “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” We need to remember that God is the creator of this universe. Not because He has allowed us to participate in the act of the creation of another human being must we ever believe that there is some power in the act of copulation. Copulation is just the precursor to the conception process. Every single time that a child is conceived its God who gives lives to the union of the egg and sperm. When a child is conceived into the womb, all the honour and glory must go to God because it is through Him that this work was done. For those people who are having difficulty conceiving the story of barren Elizabeth and Sarah should remind us that there is nothing impossible for God to do. We need to wait patiently on the Lord and accept the answer to our prayers. Maybe God intend to give us a special child and wants to ensure that we take no credit for his or her conception. Maybe God wants this child to be given back to Him and He wants to ensure that we take no credit for the conception process. At the end of the day, we need to seek the will of the Lord and allow Him to direct in every single are of our lives. His will should be our earnest desire.
