Good Morning, There still is a very moist air mass in place, which will lead to a couple of showers today and tonight, then a round of showers with embedded thunderstorms tomorrow... Surface winds early this morning are still out of the east and northeast, while doppler radar continued to show the steadiest and most widespread showers occurring across eastern Pennsylvania and in Maryland as of 3 a.m. --- in the cooler and more stable environment near the coast, there has just been a touch of rain, some drizzle and fog since late last night... So, were still looking at a front that is draped over the mid-Atlantic states early this morning, but it will be poised to make its move to the north and east today and tonight as a warm front... Temperatures should be no higher than the lower 70s today, and the rain gear may come in handy, even though the bulk of the rain were expecting in the Tri-State Area is going to be occurring tomorrow... Some of the western suburbs, which will be a bit warmer than those places located near the coast, could see up to a half an inch of rain today in some of the pockets of heavier shower activity... Fog also is going to be a problem early this morning and again tonight, which could reduce the visibility to a mile or less in some places... Tomorrow, as the temperature approaches 80 degrees, it will be humid with times of clouds and sunshine... A few showers and a thunderstorm are likely tomorrow, and with the precipitable water values expected to be as high as 2.0 inches, we should be prepared for some drenching downpours which could lead to some flooding, especially during the afternoon and evening... Drier weather is expected to prevail over the weekend as a less humid air mass follows on the heels of this next front as it pushes out to sea late tomorrow night and early Saturday morning... Weekend temperatures should be mostly in the lower and middle 80s with no less than partial sunshine... Sunday, Fathers Day, looks especially nice... Early next week, warm and more humid air will be coming back with a vengeance, and temperatures should soar into the upper 80s by the middle of the week with the chance for a couple of showers and heavier thunderstorms...
