Jimmy Richardson #69 for of the office of School Board Member District A for the following reasons: His Accomplishments and involvements dating from 1994 to Present; · Supported the Implementation of parish wide uniform policy. · Supported Implementation of zero tolerance policy. · Supported Ten classroom addition to Amite High School. · Supported the Construction of Amite High Auditorium. · Led the request to renovate a burn-out wing of Roseland Elementary. · Supported the Major construction at Independence Jr High. · Collaboratively led in the Piloting 4x4 block schedule at Amite High (administration terminated program after four years) · Collaboratively supported the Piloting of Parish wide VocTech program (terminated by administration due to withdrawal of funds) · Led the creation of the first benefit package for all employees · Led the investigation of school board lack of compliance to the federal court order in hiring and promotions (Objective Criteria). This opened the door to many African American teachers, coaches and administrators being promoted and hired. · Led the purchase of a program that identified the academic weakness in athletes and tailored a process that would improve their ACT performance scores · Testified in federal Court that led to the awarding of first African American head football coach in forty-years · Participating in the court ordered mechanics that led to many new academic programs being offered by the TPSS · Catalyzed the re-writing of many ambiguously written policies and procedures. · Led the renaming of the Historic OW Dillon School. · Led the correction to federal standards of many safety issues at AHS football field lighting and parish wide play ground equipment · Supported the issuing of the 13th check to all employees (bonus) * Adding to this extensive list of his unchallenable qualifications, he will ensure the safety of our children by making sure there is thorough back ground checks on teacher who we trust with the safety of our children, do I need to mention the past petifiles that were teaching their own cirriculum or the bus drivers that we trust to transport our kids to school safely but instead have a wreck and cover it up.
