Good Morning!! Tuesday Devotional. Day #11 When God Calls You Follow Me, and I will make you. Mk 1:17 NKJV If you think youre not qualified to be used by God, start changing the way you think! When Elijah called Elisha, he was plowing. When Jesus called Peter he was fishing. To follow God, Elisha had to leave farming and Peter had to leave fishing. Cant you imagine Peters wife saying, How are we gonna pay the bills? Following God is like stepping out on tissue paper and discovering solid rock underneath. However, youll never discover rock unless youre willing to step onto the tissue paper. Scary? When God asks you to walk away from a security base thats been part of your life, you take your talents with you. Matthew, an accountant (just imagine him punching numbers), took his pen and wrote the first book of the New Testament. When David went to Sauls palace he took his harp with him, and went on to write psalms we still sing today. Thats why its important to know that its God whos calling you, and to have it confirmed by trusted leadership. If you run before the starter fires the gun youll be disqualified from the race. When God calls you, keep these four things in mind: (1) Theres a price to be paid. If youre willing to pay it you can have Gods best. (2) Theres a path to be walked. Each step is a step of faith. (3) There are principles to be observed. Youve got to do Gods will, Gods way, in order to be blessed. (4) Theres a promise to sustain you.
