Good Morning! WE are about to start the summer outdoor grilling, summer fun Happy hours with friends, time at the beach etc. Many opportunities to NOT only have a great time with friends and family, but often we are surrounded by food and drink that weve missed right off the grill as well as those Happy hours with friends after work on a Friday night. the Negative in this is The forgotten Calories. It happens so easily as we just grab a bite of something unaware of how much or what exactly was in it. It happens to me on occassion and the results are typically a feeling of being bloated, way too much sodium that my body isnt used to. a simple small handful of chips and Guacamole can add as much as 300 calories to your day not to mention the sodium. or an extra glass of wine or beer depending on how many oz 120 cal. average x 2 or 3.. well you get the idea. My suggestions is to if you know your going out fill your day prior to with plenty of water, clean protein such as egg whites, white fish and chicken and plenty of veggies, steamed and fruit. have a snack before you go out, I do always so I dont arrive starving. My snack could be a cup of watermelon, or if Im feeling hungry I have 1/3 c Greek yogurt with chia seed and berries.. the chia is meant to give you the feeling of fullness, and also has antioxidants and fiber. Cardio is a must in order to sweat out that sodium regardless so hit the road with a I feel amazing attitude and have a safe and enjoyable summer!
