Good Morning and Happy Thursday to everyone! It is chilly again this morning and there is frost too! It is going to be sunny with a high of 56 degrees and a low of 29 degrees tonight! Nativity Pulled From Library is on the front page this morning and is written by Maayan Schechter! He has taken some nice pictures too! Some Aiken County residents are not happy after a Nativity scene decoration was pulled this week from the Nancy Carson Library in North Augusta! Barbara Walker, the manager at this library, said the Nativity set has been put up each Christmas season in the library for years, but staff never really considered it a big issue! Barbara was our media specialist when I taught at NEMS! What a shame that this has happened! Please read the article for details on this! Congratulations to Sherry Wilson and her son, Tyler, for their being on the Wheel of Fortune gameshow on Friday evening @ 7:00 on Channel 12! Dustin Turner wrote about this and included a nice picture too! Rob Novit wrote about Career Center Student Receives Award and this is about Nigeria Williams! She is a 16-year-old sophomore at SAHS! On Monday, she traveled to New York City to be honored as the Trainee of the Year by the German American Chamber of Commerce! As a result, she will receive a trip to Germany next summer, participating in an educational program that will include visits to manufacturing companies! Congratulations to Nigeria for this award! Rob also wrote about Santos Honored With Ruth Patrick Award and this is about Karey Santos who teaches at Millbrook Elementary! Congratulations to her and Rob took a nice picture too! The Aiken and North Augusta Christmas parades are set for Sunday afternoon! Check the paper for the details! Larry Wood wrote about Area Middle School Teacher Named Favorite In County and this is about Kerri Dean at NEMS! Kerri was a teacher with me @ NEMS when I taught there! Now, she is a math and pre-algebra teacher and she received 142,640 points and was named the districts favorite teacher in the Bob Richards $10K Giveaway for AC Public Schools! She received this award at the AC Board meeting on Tuesday evening! Other teachers, administrators,and students received award also! Congratulations to all of these! Dede Biles wrote about Tour of Churches To Tell Story of Christs Birth and this is about the 17th annual Walking Tour of Churches in downtown Edgefield on Saturday which begins at 3:00! Night of 1,000 Lights will be held today from 6-8:00 P.M. In downtown Aiken! Teddy Kulmala wrote about this! A Cold War Christmas will be held at Redcliffe Plantation on Saturday from 5-7:00 P.M. and Maayan Schechter wrote about this! Check the paper for details! Congratulations to Joseph Whitt! He was a pitcher for MVHS and has signed to play ball @ Lander University! I am so proud of this young man! He was in my 3rd Grade class @ Warrenville Elementary School! Congratulations to Joseph and Eric Russell wrote about this and took a very nice picture too! Congratulations to Brad Richardson for coming to coach the Mustang baseball team! Eric Russell wrote about this! Stephanie Turner wrote about When Voices Meet Strings and this is about the Big Tunes Program on Sunday @ 6 P.M. @ Aikens First Baptist Church! The cost is $10!
