((Good Morning everyone.)) ((Since Im not a bit more awake and focused, let me discuss some of the things I saw at Pixel Pop Festival. Bear in mind that all of these titles are from companies in the St. Louis area, in case anyones curious or is unsure about bias or something.)) steamcommunity/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=285220492&searchtext=Tomb+of+Tyrants ((First on the list is Tomb of Tyrants, a primarily puzzle focused game with a hint of RPG to it.)) ((What struck me at first about this was that it took elements of something akin to Bejeweled and mixed it with a bit of Dungeon Keeper, in that youre the villain of the tale, forming your lair full of monsters to keep the heroes out. As a fan of both concepts, I was immediately intrigued by this. I hate to admit how many hours Ive spent on games such as Puzzle Quest, for example. Its really kind of embarrassing.)) ((The bulk of the game involved matching colored tiles to add to your available resources, which are used to build additional, deeper floors to the tomb to further the end goal of surviving. Monsters are also summoned via the resources. You could only move pieces horizontally, and pieces could fall into empty spaces. The heroes come out in waves, and there was enough time between each of them to rebuild or add onto ones tomb or bring back monsters, so there wasnt this sharp difficulty curve right away. Always a good thing.)) ((One thing I do want to congratulate is that the artwork is quite nicely done. I could easily identify what was going on, which tiles were which, and what all was happening to my adorable little monsters. The creator did point out that some people did have trouble identifying certain colors from one another, so that may change in the future. I didnt have that issue.)) ((One thing to note currently is that I was playing the game on the Ouya, that little device everyone got excited about then forgot. It played fairly well on there, a little unusual to get used to due to the controller itself. I imagine itll be easier on a keyboard and mouse, though this does give me hope it could move onto other devices as well.)) ((All in all, go give it a look if youre a fan of this unusual blending of things. The Steam Greenlight link has been provided.)) ((Pictured along with the title screen is the small board that was next to the station. At that brief moment of time, I had the highest score. When I checked at the end of the day, someone had doubled it. Good on them.))
