O HOLY NIGHT by CELINE DION -1847 (Music and Lyrics by Adolphe Adam) This power French Christmas Carol was the focus of the most significant event in the First World War. On this Christmas Eve, 1914, French, English and German troops climbed out of their trenches and reached out to their enemies and began to laugh and talk. They played football, eat food and rink wine together. And they started to sing songs. The Germans sang their national Christmas Carol Silent Night and the French sang this song. Those soldiers stopped the fighting and became friends. If only for one day! There have been so many versions of O Holy Night but Celine Dions version is the best!
