Good Morning friends! Sorry for not posting in my real life I work a full time job for the state of Illinois - Gypsy Moth Program Manager and its been busy here juggling work and rescue! Then add the weather - WOW! Weve been cleaning up from the mess of Monday nights derecho. Weve sustained a bit of damage from enclosures blowing over and trees falling on cages. But all are well. UPDATE: Possies are all well and growing like crazy. Squirrels are all free and playing around the farm. No raccoons this year with the Parvo scare (from a wild one) gosh I miss those sweeties! But get this...... we have a barn weasel!!! Yep Odins outside enclosure sustained damage Monday night. Weve been fretting where he could have gone (hes only 4 inches of mighty ) well Tuesday night there he was sitting on the work bench in the barn watching me clean stalls - playing in and out of the tools (we have a mouse issue in the barn and we dont want/have barn cats so a barn weasel is welcome) So each night I put out his wetfood (thank you Happy Dog Barkery because of you and your peeps - we have great high quality food for him) and he dines as we do chores! He is quite silly - I guess if promises to leave the chickens alone - for now he can stay (I tried trapping but hes so tiny he slipped through the bars!)
