Good Morning from The Shire Of Ovens! The Royal Pack Of Puppies are all still nestled deep in the toasty covers of the king sized bed in our master bedroom, steaming hot coffee is flowing freely and coursing through our veins, Advil and Claritin D have been dispensed to ward off sinus pain from the big fluctuation in weather, the thermometer has taken a huge plunge to an extremely brisk 46 (by Floridian standards), thick socks, long underwear, sweatshirts, and all manner of winter attire have wandered out of our closets and dressers and we are bundled up! Yet we persist - there are roofs dripping with mold, which are screaming for our attention, houses to be washed, driveways, sidewalks, and storm gutters that long to shed the cloak of black and return to their former bright and pristine state - and so we go out into the wild cold blue yonder - impervious to the chill - onto to bust that ugly dirt and mold. And in the midst of our polishing - making everything sparkling and bright - we find among us the occasional Grinch - that terrible human, who thumbs up his nose at the season of giving. He, who does not believe in the magic of Christmas, he, who says bah humbug to silly cartoons with no reason, he, who does not remember the simple joys of being a child and believing in Santa. My message to all of you on this chilly morning - beneath all of the trappings of this holiday - piles of ribbons, wrappings, sweets, and all manner of offerings commercial - Christmas is a time of promise of hope - it is about Christ. We should always bear this in mind as we move through these hectic and frenzied days. Enjoy, feel the magic, feel the love, and dont be a Grinch for goodness sake!
