Good Mornings All A Swell Advisory remains for Low Lying Coastal Islands of Ontong java & sikaiana atolls, Dai, Ramos, Temotu and northern waters of Choiseul, Isabel, Malaita and Makira.Expect moderate northerly swells (2.5 to 4.0 metres) coming from northern part of Solomon islands waters within the next 24 to 48 hours.There is potential of coastal inundation over low lying islands and atolls. Mariners and people living on low lying islands and coasts especially Ontong java & sikaiana atolls, Dai, Ramos, Temotu and northern waters of Choiseul, Isabel, Malaita and Makira should take precautionary measures as these swells can pose threats to lives and properties. This might expect to slowly easing over the weekend however Please listen to SIBC and FM radios for further advices. Reminder the waves can be higher than the forecast wave during high tides . As we heading towards the end of this month ,looking at the current weather there are no developing cyclone yet however some model guidance indicates that there are some possible activity for rain & strong winds expected towards end of this month over the eastern parts of Solomon islands so keep your self updated with the latest forecast on met.gov.sb.
