Good News!!! Letter From Saint Francis Xavier School Dear Parents and Parishioners, We are happy to be writing this letter to inform you about all of the wonderful things that are happening at Saint Francis Xavier School. Our enrollment has increased to 154 students and we are running out of classroom space. Next year we will likely rearrange a few classrooms and the office in order to accommodate the larger classroom sizes. The school year is off to a great start. The PTF prepared an excellent meal for Open House. This event always gives the parents and students a chance to reconnect after the summer break. We are pleased to welcome several new teachers. We are grateful that we have been blessed with such wonderful faculty members. St. Francis Xavier School is fortunate to have an abundance of volunteers this year. Thanks to the ladies from our parish and parents, the volunteers will be working with the children in the classrooms, the library, and the lunchroom. These volunteers are so important to our school. With their help, St. Francis Xavier School is able to run more efficiently and they give our students the extra help they need. St. Francis Xavier School would not have the success that it does without the help of our volunteers and we are very thankful for all of their contributions. The Lay Foundation, with the help of St. Francis Xavier alumnus Charles Luber, recently provided $13,050.00 in scholarships for 7 of our students. We have also applied for a technology grant through the Lay Foundation. We hope to implement iPads in the classrooms beginning with the 2015-16 school year. The help this organization has given us, along with many donations and memorials, help our school tremendously. The 5th-8th grade students have begun their co-ed volleyball season. Please check the school website for their game times. The students would love to see you in the crowd cheering them on. This is a great opportunity that allows the athletes to foster strong bonds and friendships outside of the classroom. We currently have two fundraisers in progress. The students are selling magazines and we are preparing for our annual Saint Francis Xavier Golf Tournament on October 6, 2014. If you need any information about these fundraisers please call our school office at 471-0841. Thank you so much for your time, talent, and treasures that you share with us. May the Lord reward you kindly. God Bless, Debbie Pollock, Principal of STFX Jill Grojean, President of STFX School Board
