Good News! St. Matthias Episcopal Church Announces New Rector! The St Matthias Search Committee and the Vestry are pleased to announce that a new Rector, Time Certain has been hired. The Rev. Brenda Overfield is coming to us from the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, in Valley Stream, NY where she has been Pastor. The Reverend Brenda S. Overfield will Celebrate her first service at St. Matthias on Sunday July 13, 2014. A Prayer of Thanks and Praise Gracious and eternal God, we have journeyed on our search for a new priest, we have prayed that our call be felt and heard by one who shares our faith, will nourish us spiritually, will lead us in our call to ministry and will sustain our unity. We have asked for guidance and the blessing of discernment as You have shepherded the St. Matthias family forward. Now, we give you heartfelt thanks and praise that you have answered our prayer. You have raised up for us a new priest, The Reverend Brenda Overfield. With grateful hearts we receive her into our midst as our priest. We now ask that our life together be pleasing to You, and that together we will grow closer to You and to each other as we live Your will for this community. This we ask in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
