Former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and those who defected with him into the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have been granted automatic waiver by the PDP to contest in the 2015 elections. This was contained in a letter sent to them by the leadership of the party. 2. No fewer than 20 persons were reportedly killed in Bode-Saadu, headquarters of Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State on Monday night after a fuel-laden truck exploded. The federal government has approved the borrowing of $945 million from the International Development Association, an arm of the World Bank, to complete its irrigation and drainage projects. This was disclosed by the Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda. 6. In what appears like a temporary victory for the Boko Haram insurgents, residents of Ashaka have recounted that the insurgents left the cement factory with eight hilux vans loaded with dynamite. 7. The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has issued its last warning to the Boko Haram fighters, saying it will not be silent over the continuous killing of Christians at different parts of the North. CAN gave the warning through its President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor in Abuja on wednesday. 8. Former Ogun State Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, and the Deputy Governor, Segun Adesegun, have defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Social Democratic Party. Report also says the three APC senators from the state and six members of House of Representatives had equally joined the SDP. 9. A former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has given credit to Nigerian women for being more reliable in politics than their male counterparts.
