Good Saturday morning, everyone, I’m completely done with - TopicsExpress

Good Saturday morning, everyone, I’m completely done with Winter; bring on Spring. I’m trying to learn my lesson about what to eat and what not to eat. Obviously, I feel my best when eating salads and fruits and vegetables; the thing is that they taste like salads and fruits and vegetables, and not like bacon and mayonnaise. This has been a lot tougher than I thought, this fight with will power. On Thursday, I had a long talk with the boss, as we were both working that day from before 7am to after 8pm. I shared my frustration about having to change/update the same two reports every week. It would be easy for him, but I’m not half the code writer that he is. Not fair to him, but you vent upward, so there you go. It’s not his to control; he receives his marching orders from a team of executives, who change their wishes every week, or every day, or every hour, or so it seems. It ended up a good talk, and there was some good news that came out of it; we hired a woman to complete the team. He says that we’ll get along well, as she reminds him a lot of me. Yay. Lord knows we need two neurotic process freaks who feel that they should be in charge of everyone. I’m still praying that the Russian comes back after she gives birth to twins in August. I’m thankful recently for a few things: I’m thankful to Carla Refolo Culkin and Hildy Dillon for inviting me to play the charity event last month. As a result of some of the songs we played, I had to learn how to (1) use a capo; and (2) finger pick. Thanks to that, I can now play a bunch of songs that I wouldn’t have attempted a year ago. I’m thankful to Mark Christie for coming to the charity event; just his being there kept me from going full-on nervous wreck. And it inspired me to write another song; well, the second half of a song. We’ll see what happens once I throw some lyrics to it. I’m really thankful to David Cichon, Vin Grazano and Mark Endres for being the kind of friends you need the most when you’re having a musician’s meltdown. I’m truly blessed to have these friends. I’m thankful to Drew Bittner, Allen Peltzman and Patricia Moore for giving me things to thing about in a different way. Thanks to Facebook, I know them even better than when we were in high school. I’m thankful to Harrison Gould for being who he is. Your life isn’t as interesting as it could be if you don’t have at least one friend like him. See you at 101 for the NCAA Final game; I’m hoping Michigan State takes out Louisville. A nice little windfall comes my way if that’s how it shakes out. I’m thankful to Laura Olson for staying in touch; being busy can interfere with what’s truly important in life, but she keeps connected. The list goes on and on. I have a new idea for a novel that I’m going to get down before I let it get away. And way-too-young girl confirmed my suspicion yesterday; I’m older than her mom. As always, thanks for reading and supporting. Oh, and Happy Birthday to Carla Refolo Culkin - I hope its your best ever!
