Good Sunday Morning! This is a fine little chapel in Hyde County, North Carolina called St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church. Although it is no longer in active use, it is cared for by a few founding families and serves on occasion as a local venue for weddings and family gatherings. It was built after the Civil War in that wonderful, but in this case simple Gothic Revival style so prevalent in this far eastern NC county. This church was also moved fairly early in its history by placing it on a barge and floating it from its original location near the shores of the Pungo River to its current site. I also have several views of the beautifully intact interior for you today.
