Good Sunday afternoon Weather Watchers!! Much COLDER air should begin to filter in from the NNW to the SSE across the State tomorrow beginning around lunchtime. IT WILL BE WINDY BEHIND THE FRONT- North Winds gusting to 30. The very dry and cold air will scour out the moisture in the atmosphere and produce snow behind the front. The ratios with this snow will be very high- 15-18 inches of snow to 1inch of liquid moisture. If you receive .20 of moisture that is 3-4 of snow. The areas we feel that will see the most snow will be areas West of a Concordia-Great Bend- Greensburg line. Those areas should see the highest totals. Areas West of I-135 corridor should see a Trace to 1. Areas East of I-135 should see a Trace. Keep in mind, the wind will be blowing the dry powdery snow all over. The COLDEST morning will be New Years Eve morning with Lows Below Zero NW to Single digits Central to low teens Southeast. Winds of 7-12 mph will make wind chills close to -20 in the Northern half of the State. Another storm system will be on the heels of this arctic punch arriving Friday into Saturday-followed by what we think could be our coldest temperatures of the season--lets monitor how the models continue look- please stay tuned as we are around 10 days out- things can and WILL CHANGE. Questions- let us know WW
