Good Sunday morning, Hopkins County area......a pleasant 77 degrees in Hopkins County this morning, under clear skies......but watch out, expect an afternoon high of the first 100 degree reading for the season, as the temperatures reach the century mark, for the first time this season, under sunny skies....tonights low will be 76 degrees, with clear skies.....were experiencing equally hot temperatures in the Mid-western part of the U.S., and add to that the humidity of the Delta and river areas....has you seeking shade in the afternoon!......A full day of exploring on Saturday, with a wonderful morning in the cotton fields of the Mississippi Delta and then on into Memphis, TN, for a fun time on the Mississippi River, as we arrived at the famous Peabody Hotel and watched the ducks come down on que!......An outstanding BBQ lunch at The Pig on Beale Street, and then a trip to the oldest 5 & Dime store in the U.S......then it was off to the little town of Henning, TN, where we toured the Alex Haley Museum in his hometown, where the inspiration for Roots was cultured!.....Acres and acres of corn and soybeans as we traveled north to Fulton, TN, as we traveled through the bucolic farmlands of the state of Tennessee.....a picnic supper on a picturesque lake near the Kentucky state line and then into the Bluegrass State for a few pictures....it was an awesome sunset as we traveled eastward in Kentucky, and the Super moon was shinning on the Ohio River, as we crossed into the state of Illinois.....and we traveled until late last night to reach our destination of St. Louis, just in time for the release of a concert and a Cardinals game, to navigate traffic and construction to get to our motel!.....It was great to finally arrive!......This morning.....its off to the famous Arches and a trip on the Mississippi River, via a historic riverboat.....and, this afternoon calls for traveling across Illinois, toward Chicago, with a side-trip into the state of Indiana and a ferry ride into the state of Michigan.....final destination for the night in Madison, Wisconsin...another full day of sightseeing and travel!.....A great trip thus far!......This morning, I was drawn to Jesus words in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 22, verses 37 & 38....And Jesus replied, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment........God loved us enough to seen His only son to die for our sins that kept us separated from Him, so that mankind might once again be reconciled with Him and have the hope of everlasting life!.....Thus, our greatest reward in life is to love Him for the great sacrifice He made for us!. On this beautiful Lords Day, love God with all your heart, soul and mind, and be blessed, as only He has the power to give us life and life more abundantly!
