Good Thursday (18th) Morning ... Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. This morning Im wondering if theres anyone else who grew up believing the mission field was out there or over there someplace. It might have been what we used to call Mission Fest at the church I grew up in, but I remember missionaries coming back from the mission field and showing pictures of people with skin color different from mine and clothing a lot more colorful than mine. And the impression stuck for quite a few years, the mission field is out there or over there but not really here. My idea and understanding of mission field has changed (grown) over the years. This morning at 3AM, a group sponnsored by our TL Baptist church, including two from Trinity, left TL to board a plane in Bismarck for a mission trip to California. They will have life changing experiences and wonderful stories to share when they return. Please keep them in your prayers. My challenge to you this morning is to bring the mission field a bit closer to home and heart. Prayerfully ask Jesus to show you who needs you to share a bit of love that can come only from Jesus. Then be open to how that sharing will happen. Might it be something as easy as a smile, a bit of your time when you are truly present, a plate of cookies .... whatever. The mission field is not only out there and over there, its right in our midst. Dear Lord, This call to share your love, in a multitude of ways, is aimed at a world that is hurting and at individuals who might be feeling very alone and forgotten. Use each of us, simple and common as we might be, to spread your love today. Amen Blessings to all you missionaries! PS
