Good Tuesday Morning!! Im so excited to let you know that we are only 10 away from 250. Id LOVE it if I could announce before noon that we are half way to our goal of 500. True Story: a pre-teen visited our Closet recently and was a quiet, shy kid. After getting the 5 shirts and pants/shorts we moved onto the socks/underwear. The kiddo was a little apprehensive and I could see a look in the eyes of uncertainty. The worker accompanying the youth said, go ahead, ask. While looking into this youths desperate eyes, in a soft voice the kiddo asked, Are the underwear used and dirty? After recovering from the shock that the kiddo NEEDED to ask this question, I pulled myself together to reassure that these were all BRAND NEW and we would NEVER give away used undergarments. I was more shocked that hes had some sort of experience with this to even make him think to ask the question. This story breaks my heart. How very sad that he would even think that used was all he would be worth. BUT our story has a happy ending because of the FABULOUS support we get from so many of you!! So, before you think $500 isnt that much, I guarantee you, that to that pre-teen it meant EVERYTHING.
