Good Tuesday morning... a cold front will push from west to east - TopicsExpress

Good Tuesday morning... a cold front will push from west to east today, and backing winds aloft is expected to slow that frontal boundary down as it moves east. This is bad news for rain and thunderstorms causing flash flooding, and highlights central and eastern areas of our coverage area for the best potential to see flash flooding, especially in thunderstorms. Severe weather potential is there today, but we didnt feel it was overly high despite the SPC listing this area in a slight risk for severe weather. Water loaded downdrafts could produce some strong to isolated severe winds, and this will all take place basically in the same time frame as yesterday. Mid afternoon thru mid evening 3-9pm ish. Behind it we have a couple of nice refreshing days, but only slightly below normal temps, no polar vortex. So keep your jackets and snow shovels where they are ;-) We have the forecasts for your local area, including the daily forecast video that goes over the heavy rain expected today with timing. Also included on the weather alert maps page is the areas outlined with the best potential to see flash flooding and isolated severe weather today. Have a great Tuesday!
