Good Wednesday morning Yall! Three thirty this morning rolled around, And my eyes popped open hard, Tried and tried to return to sleep, Just wasnt in the cards. Id been in the habit of sleeping in, But one thing I noticed for certain, My joints, especially my old knees, Were not this morning a hurtin! Now that was a surprise, to me, anyway, Me, whos usually in pain, When I first wake up cant wait to take My meddycations again. Never thought Id live so long, To be what most call old, To add to the list of what I cant do, No longer so young and bold. I guess we all soon or late realize, Those days when we werent so fragile, Have gone forever from our lives, Those days when we were so agile. Like the young today, we laughed at the old, While on our way we went, Full of life and fun we were, Never imagining wed ever be spent. But like the cannons roar thats silenced, When munitions arent to be had, Our old bodies just dont boom any more, When this or that goes bad. But for days like this, Ill take em, And appreciate and enjoy feeling good, Even if just a few hours today, I get to feel more like I should. So be thankful for your good times, Take advantage of your strengths, Get things done while you may, Could be later than one thinks! Chester M. Baldwin, April 2, 2014.
