Good Yontif to Our Jewish Readers! At sundown today began the Jewish day of atonement, also known as Yom Kipper. Undoubtedly, this is where the Catholic confessional comes from. The difference between Catholics and Jews is that Catholics confess their sins every week, whereas Jews only do it once a year - and Muslims have a month, which is observed as Ramadan. That adds to the heaviness of Yom Kipper. It is a very somber, sober day, during which Jewish people fast and beg the Lord to forgive them their sins. From the entire Worldmeets.US team, may Yom Kipper be spiritually fulfilling for all those who observe.
