Good afternoon CYG I feel like its been a while posting my reflection when its been about a week o.o, but nevertheless before I start let us praise God for his blessings, grace, mercy, and love, that despite these very hot days, that he has kept us cool and safe. Let everything I say be for the glory God~ So I am really encouraged to see all these great reflections, its great to see all my brothers and sisters being active and seeking for God, maybe thats why I think its been a while since I shared my reflection, because Im used to just seeing the leaders post, but now I see reflections from everyone and its really great to see God work through our ministry. Today I want to share about Daniel 1-2, I encourage you guys to read it before reading the rest xD. So as my AP classes start to ramp up and I see it becoming more and more overburdening in my life, God really called to read Daniel and to learn from Daniel in my ways. The setting is at Babylonia under the rule of King Nebuchanezzar who ordered all the wise young men of the nation to gather around to teach them his ways, and in essence indoctrinate them and for them to exalt him. Daniel along with a few others (Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah) were chosen to come and learn. From the very beginning he was set firm with his faith, he was resolved to keep Gods words and instructions. Daniel rejected the food from the king because it went against Gods teaching, risking himself on a King known for his ruthless conducts to his enemies and even his subordinates. As we get into the dreams, Daniel really shows wisdom when all the wise men that Nebuchanzzer gathered cowered from his unreasonable instructions, Daniel, calmly sought for Gods wisdom with his fellow friends, and God being merciful and loving, showed both the dream and the interpretation to Daniel. I really want to emphasize this as we go through our school lives, how I have been putting my education separate from God, trying to go throughout my studies in my own power, thinking as if God has no power over my studies. However, God really taught me how that should not be the case and showed me Daniel, and how he let God reign over all parts of his life, put his pure faith into him. Just like Daniel when I study God really wanted me to have faith in him and that he will work through me and I should trust God, and not worry. Lets also relate this to Proverbs 8: 6--21 Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. 7 My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness. 8 All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse. 9 To the discerning all of them are right; they are upright to those who have found knowledge. 10 Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, 11 for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. 12 “I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion. 13 To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. 14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power. 15 By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; 16 by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth.[b] 17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. 18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. 19 My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. 20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, 21 bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full. Sorry that this went a bit longer than I thought but I hope you guys got as much out of it as I did~~ Keep up the great work CYG I believe that God has something in store for us. Have a great week guys and I cant wait to see your beautiful faces on fri/sunday xD
