Good afternoon all! Our family wants to thank everyone who came out to join us and our friends this past weekend to commemorate Kim. Also, thank you to those who cant make it but sent their warm thoughts, prayers, and love to us. Words cannot describe the immerse love we felt during these past couple of days. It is amazing to see how Kim had impacted so many of us. We want everyone to know how much we treasure the new friendships we made along the way. You all have helped us heal in many ways and we thank God everyday for our blessings. People have asked our family how we felt about the sentence and if we were angry about the perpetrators receiving only 6 years. We tell them, simply, this is what Kim wanted. Kim had decided to register as an organ donor at such a young age, without the knowledge of our parents. She had a giving and nurturing nature, as well as a sense of forgiveness and compassion for others. Shes a child of God, who only hope for love and peace in this world - not hate and anger. We try to live by that message because hate is too much of a burden to bear. Our family wants to find peace and forgiveness. For that to happen, we need to have love in our hearts. We are celebrating Kims legacy. Kim would want to be remembered not by the way she had passed away, but by how she had lived her life and the accomplishments she had had.
