Good afternoon and thanks to all taking our poll last night. A majority of you are enjoying this cool weather for July (56%) but not surprising that over 33% were missing the heat. No doubt a chill in the air early Tuesday - the 4th night below 55° in the city this month a 1° shy of tying a 133 year old record. Some impressive early morning temperatures included: 49°: Greensburg, Shelbyville/Rushville, 48° Crawfordsville, 47° W. Lafayette, Marion. July sun vs Sept-level cool & afternoon showers & t-showers form. 1st of the day Cass/Miami Co at 3:15 PM and growing in coverage quickly by 5 PM. Should see trends diminish after sunset - peaking at about 20% coverage. Im posting the radar just before 4 PM. Slow warming in the days ahead but not enough to erase the temperature deficit of July 2014 - currently the 2nd coolest on record behind 1947. With little chance of cracking 80° official until Friday - this July has the makings of being the coolest ever. The afternoon high Tuesday in the 70s marked the 15th July afternoon below 80° - most ever. We could be near normal high temperatures starting Monday of next week.
