Good afternoon everyone! Great meeting yesterday featuring some LOVELY debates about meningitis from the perspectives of the government/vaccine implementers, and the people/vaccine receivers. A quick recap: meningitis has the capacity to kill more people than Ebola, in much less time, and it widely ignored by the media and international healthcare funding. Meningitis can be caused by bacteria, parasites, and viruses, but the type responsible for 80% of infections is bacterial - Meningoccal meningitis Group A. We had some riveting debates from Mars, Barbar and Serena of The People, and Alexa from The Government. Thanks to everyone that participated! Heres some information about the conference we hope to attend in March: globalissuesnetwork.org/wagin/. We can register in groups of 2-6 and if you participate in our ISGH booth, Ms. Dinter said very explicitly that you will get extra credit. You can ask her yourself :) Registration is due on Feb 6th so we will be discussing this at our next meeting. Also coming up are T-shirts, Malaria Night, and the field trip to SBRI. Stay tuned! Have a fantastic week, and I will see you all next Monday!
