Good afternoon everyone! It sure feels like winter today! Hard to believe that almost a week ago it was in the teens across the province! There are a couple of things I am watching weather wise besides this cold, and I thought I would give an update. An off-shore system with some other moisture will possibly bring us some flurries or light snow Thursday. It is to early to speculate amounts if any, and I will continue to keep everyone updated The big thing I am watching is a possible storm this weekend. Currently, a low pressure system is just beginning to develop in California, as we go through tomorrow, the low will continue to develop. The low will take in some moisture from the gulf, and travel along the jet stream. This is where it gets tricky because #1: Its still very early, and the track could change several times before this weekend. One model has the lows centre track through Quebec, and another model has it more towards Nova Scotia. #2: What will we see precipitation wise? Models currently suggest a snow -> rain event beginning sometime early Sunday. Also we have been influenced by Arctic air, so that could affect precipitation types. We will also have to watch the storms intensity as models disagree due to the tracks. This is still way to early, and this is in no way a concrete forecast. This is just a heads up to start thinking ahead about this weekend! Stay tuned for the latest updates!
