Laura Neighbourhoods Matter The Haldi Road Community has once again filed legal action against the City of Prince George. It is not something that we take lightly, but under the circumstances we feel strongly that Mayor Green and Council are disregarding the concerns of the citizens of Prince George. We have received legal advice and as a result, our lawyer Roy Stewart, again believes that he has a strong case. He will be merging three challenges. His argument will be based on the Conflict of Interest involving Mayor Green and the owners of the former Haldi Road School property. He will also be challenging the OCP amendment that will allow for institutional use in all residential neighbourhoods. Mr. Stewart is requesting that Mayor Green be disqualified from office if it is ruled that she is in a Conflict of Interest. In April we obtained a Letter of Opinion from John Alexander of the law firm Cox Taylor in Victoria. This letter of opinion indicates that there is indeed a perceived conflict of interest. We are attempting to inform the rest of Prince George. We need to act fast and gather funds to continue the fight for all neighbourhoods. We appreciate any help that you can offer.
