Good afternoon everyone! Today we are reading Mark 4:35-5:43 and we are going to focus on verses 25-34. Now in the book of Leviticus [15:19-30], we are told that a woman is considered unclean when she has a flow of blood. And to be unclean was to be separated. During this time, others did not approach you, sit with you, talk to you, touch you, etc. and you were not allowed in the temple to worship, pray, commune, etc. You were isolated and basically didnt exist. So to be plagued with this ailment for 12 years probably meant she has not had substantial human contact, been able to participate in Passover, or be in the temple for any reason. And from the text we see that she has done everything (in the flesh) she could to be healed. Yet, by the power of our Savior she was healed from a mere touch of His clothing. By her faith she was made well and what great faith she had! How many of us pray expectant knowing that when we ask according to the Lords will our hearts desires will be granted to us? How many of us are double minded? Doubting? Today we encourage you with three things. 1. God does not want you to be separated from Him, come believing and He will heal your soul. 2. Sometimes we use God as a last resort, forgetting that His ways are so much greater than our ways. When you have a problem seek Him first. 3. Dont be afraid to ask of the Lord. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. [Matthew 7:7] but make sure, When you ask, [and] you do not receive, [it is] because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
