Good afternoon everyone!! Tomorrow is the big tournament day!! Here are bits of a message from Mr. Parseghian, as well as from his Parent Committee...PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, respect and abide by the rules! Thank you! **Also, Mr. Speakman will be there! Say hello, and dont be afraid to ask for a picture!!** Mr. Parseghian: I wanted to wish all of the competitors good luck! The tournament is a very important event for our school. I wanted to make sure that all of the parents and spectators understand the purpose behind the tournament. It is not to win trophies and beat the opponent, it is a learning experience for our students and we want to use this as a tool to build up their confidence and also to let them know that there are people better than them out there. The tournaments teach many other things as well and I would be here all day typing. We have 6 schools participating in the tournament this year, which all of them are Kenpo 5.0 schools. They are a part of our family and I would like everyone to act that way, even when its sparring time! Check-in is from 9-10am. Tournament will begin on time, 10am! Parent Committee: In order to keep our presence acknowledged and preserved for future tournaments at CALTECH, we ALL need to be mindful that their committee have laid down strict rules exclusively for our Kenpo venue. First and foremost, is to keep the gym lobby clear in order to run their daily routine of entertaining regular gym members. All exercise equipment is OFF LIMITS! We ONLY have permission to use the basketball gym, restrooms, the outdoor patio area and the spacious underground parking. Parents are REQUIRED to follow these rules and to keep a watchful eye on their children AT ALL TIMES during the tournament or we lose our privilege and yearly invitation to a very comfortable and modern facility. The committee will be selling snacks, pizza, drinks, coffee, donuts, and much more throughout the day, please support our committee in our fundraising efforts to help our students attend the Las Vegas event this June! Snacks and drinks $1, pizza $2. ***ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN THE GYMNASIUM!!! and also NO SHOES WITH HEELS inside gym!*** The committee will also be raffling out some amazing prizes throughout the day.
