Good afternoon everyone We seem to have come a long way in a relatively short timescale. The enthusiasm you have shown has been fantastic. The programme is already taking shape with some great ideas. Please keep them coming. In terms of ticket arrangements we have agreed to set the price of the tickets at £5. This is a community event and we simply want to cover costs and raise some modest funds for the Friends of Woodhorn to help their campaign to revitalise the church. We think this is a reasonable amount for a good night of entertainment. Given the high demand we are still thinking about how best to allocate tickets and maximise the seating within the church. Therell be further details on these arrangements nearer the date. As noted in earlier postings, this concert will not be the big and bold statement of last year. We are looking to play to the strengths of Woodhorn and create an intimate, atmospheric setting with lots of participation and opportunities for the audience to sing. We will be placing a big focus on Christmas carols and traditional songs, and peppering these throughout the programme. These are relatively easy to play and will allow all the performers, including those who are back playing after a lay-off, the opportunity to get involved. The bulk of the rest of the programme will focus on the creativity and talent that is in abundance in this group of local performers. Each of the core elements of the programme will be able to rehearse and polish their items in the coming months and we can then stitch these together nearer the time. Well be here for any support you need and will be able to provide rehearsal space at Woodhorn in December. Im pulling together music where necessary and will be in touch with the relevant parts. In sum, we pretty much have all the foundations in place now for a great night. Ive spoken to a few people in and around the village and there is a real buzz already in anticipation.
