Good afternoon folkies! We bring some good news for a change. Today Moray Council voted in favour of placing a five year moratorium on any rural school closures, which effectively saves our school from the threat of closure for a minimum of five years! The motion was carried by 16 votes to 8. A separate motion to proceed with the Caledonian Economics report as it is was defeated by 16 votes to 8, which ultimately leaves the report, its credibility and the perhaps that of the council administration in disarray. Wed like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has contributed in every single way over the last 14 months. It has been a hard slog and who knows what may come after five years, but one thing that has become certain is that we shall stand again with a very strong voice as a community and fight. We have built a tight argument for the retention of our school in any case. We now need to get stability back to our school and let the teachers and staff do what they do best, which is providing our children with the best education. Well done and thank you all! Ryan
