Good afternoon friends, the death of Robin Williams has hit me especially hard for many reasons, but mainly because we have lost another soul too soon to the grips of depression. In honor of his spirit and others gone before him, and in recognizing that many people are suffering from depression and other mental health disorders but too ashamed to reach out for help, Im creating a private FB Group to give them a safe place to land. This is NOT -- and I repeat, NOT -- a psychotherapy group. Our goal is to engage in thoughtful dialogue, provide encouragement and support and share relevant information and resources about the effects of mental illness, so that individuals will be better informed and feel more comfortable and inspired to seek professional treatment outside of the group. Please send me a private message if you, or someone you know, would like to be added to this group. Depression is REAL and my intention is to keep it real.
