Good afternoon gang. Had a good visit with my brother Jim over - TopicsExpress

Good afternoon gang. Had a good visit with my brother Jim over breakfast and we rode around for a while in the country side just talking. Arrived back home a little later than planned and started playing with Addy Kay, but she didnt last long and fell into a nap...Debs snoozing on the couch during Addy’s nap. While riding around with Jim here in Union County I saw another old abandon homestead on a road I had been down a thousand times (Way back on a hillside near an old barn I had taken pictures of before from “afar”) but had never noticed the old house…Amazing what you can miss sometimes even when “you’re looking” for it. I forgot to throw the camera in the car. ( Wasn’t really planning on riding around) so I’ll have to go back one day this week to investigate on how to get back to it and get some pictures. While everyone is napping I am going through some more of my old long hand journals and transferring some writings to my computer files, while doing so came across this “Prayer of Proverbs” I had written years ago (Proverbs always being one of my favorite books of the bible, especially when I was younger) Since it is Sunday “The Lords Day” I thought I would share it with you, not to be getting up on any stump mind you but just to be sharing some old writings…Hope you have a great afternoon…PLH-ELB My Prayer of Proverbs Lord let me hear. Let me increase my learning. Let me be a man of understanding, attaining unto wise council. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Let me fear the Lord. Let me be quiet from fear and evil. Let me receive thy words and hide thy commandments in my heart. Let me criest after knowledge and lift my voice to understanding. Let me seek her as silver, search for her as hid treasures, so that I may understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. Let mercy and truth be written on the table of my heart. Let me not forget to honor you with the first fruits of my increase. Let my mouth not be forward or my lips be perverse. Let me rejoice with the wife of my youth and may I always be ravished by her love. May I not be prideful or arrogant, for I know all I have comes from you. Let my hand not be slack but diligent that I may accomplish what is before me. Let me not uttereth a slander as a fool would. Let me have the lip of truth that it may be established forever. Let me walk with men of wisdom. Let my companions not be fools. Let my answers be soft to turn away wrath. Let me not answer a matter until I know it. Let me not be deceived by wine the mocker, or strong drink the rager. Let me be a man of integrity that my children will be blessed after me. Let me bring up my children in the way they ought to be. Let my words be fitly spoken. Let me put confidence in faithful men. Let me trust in thee that I may not lien into my own understanding. Let all of my ways acknowledge you that you may direct my paths. Let me commit my works unto you that my thoughts may be established. Let me have strength in my day of adversity.... ......in Jesus name I pray...Amen. Edwin Lewis Brashear ©
