Good afternoon heres a WTSA news update Windham county senator Jeanette White wants to return to the Vermont senate, where she’s spent the past 12 years. White is a former Putney select board member, and is currently a special projects manager for the Brattleboro Housing Authority. Vermont’s seasonally-adjusted statewide unemployment rate for June was 3.5 percent. This represents an increase of two-tenths of a percent from May. The national average was 6.1 percent. This is the first monthly increase to the statewide unemployment rate in Vermont in ten months, but the state continues to have the second lowest jobless rate in the nation. The Brattleboro area reported a four point one percent rate of people in the labor force who sought benefits. 10-year-old bowler Natalie Savant is on a quest to bowl in all 48 continental U.S. states. Her goal is to raise awareness and scholarship money for youth bowling. Having bowled in 37 states already, Natalie is making her 38th stop in Brattleboro today. Keene public works officials say a contractor will be working at ash brook road beginning Monday, resetting curbing at the entrance to the Monadnock Marketplace for a snowmobile crossing. The work is expected to be completed by Friday afternoon weather permitting. There will be lane closures and traffic control at the work site.
