Good afternoon, how was your weekend? I dont ask this question just to be saying this. I actually would like to know how youre coming along staying close to God through the week because there are a such thing as Sunday Christians if you didnt know this. Why would we feel so Holy on Sunday come Monday were cussing our spouses for some odd reason, were cussing our children because they wont get up for school, were cussing drivers because we feel theyre moving too slow, were cussing one or some of our co-workers just because, and we do this the entire week, but here comes Sunday and we put on our Sunday face good-morning Sis. Jones, good-morning Pastor Brown, good-morning Deacon Johnson and get up in the choir and sing like an angel. Why do we do this? Family, Friends, and Gods True-Believers, the reason is were unwilling to make the commitment, the sacrifice, the change. Your gift from God should be motivation enough, doesnt His credibility stand for something. Dont you feel that Hes been through enough for you. Tell me how would you feel if at this very moment He would to say, Ive had enough I cant deal with being disrespected any longer, youre on youre own. You may lose your job, the company you work for shuts down, other major companies un-able to hire do to inflation, house gone, car gone, no income, just you, your spouse maybe, children and the clothes on your back. Not just you though. Friends, family members, neighbors, everyone you thought you could turn to. Now!! where do we go from here? A Hundred million dollar question hunh? But let me tell you something, you dont have to worry about this cause GOD WILL NEVER DO YOU LIKE THAT! a-men. So why do Him like that? O.K. let us pray, Heavenly Father, I thank You for using me to share what You feel. Father, I thank You from the bottom of my heart that Youve never turned Your back on me. I cant say Lord where Id be if you did. Father God, im thankful to You this is one worry ill never have to experience, because You told me Youd NEVER LEAVE ME ALONE. Father I ask that You will plead my cause, O Lord with them that strive against me, In The Name Of Jesus. Lord I have faith that You take hold of the shield and buckler, and stand up for me and say to my soul, I am your salvation. Father God, I have faith that You will protect me from those that seek after my soul, let those be turned back that devise my hurt. Heavenly Father, I thank You for this prayer and ask that You grant it in the Name of Jesus, a-men and a-men. Now let the redeem say a-men. Alright, let us get started, Ill try not to be too lengthy, Pauls Conversation and Baptism: Saul was probably the greatest persecutor that the early church had. a-men. Saul hated the Christians; He made havoc of the church, which means,( confusion, disorder, etc) entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison (Acts 8:3). In Acts. 9, we read that he was breathing out threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord. He was on his way to Damascus for the purpose of destroying the church there (v. 1-2). How did God deal with such a person? Us, we would more than likely dealt with him in judgment, right. God dealt with him in mercy. WOW. Incredible hunh! My, My, the wondrous love of God! He loved the believers at Damascus, and the way He preserved them was through the salvation of the man who intended to scatter and destroy them. Say What?? Could you have did this? Knowing me the way I was more than likely no! Our God delights to be merciful, and His grace is granted daily to both sinner and saint. He shows mercy to all. a-men.. If we would just realize that we are alive today only through the Grace of God. a-men and a-men. Well I know it was getting good however, I said I wouldnt hold you long so I tried not to. Now before we close; Remember the words of Jesus to the Samaritan woman? The water I give will become a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life. Jesus offers, not a singular drink of water, but a perpetual artesian well!! And the well isnt a hole in your backyard but the Holy Spirit of God in your heart. a-men. If anyone believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out from that persons heart, as the Scripture says. Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit. The Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been raised to glory. But later, those who believed in Jesus would receive the Spirit (John 7:38-39). Water, in this verse, is a picture of the Spirit of Jesus working in us. a-men. Hes not working to save us, mind you; work is done, Hes working to change us.
