Good article. 1. The tests are full of errors (they were scored incorrectly) 2. The corporations encourage new standards, to make new tests, to make new money. 3. They profit from testing teachers, too. 4. They have lobbying power. 5. Their test content is absurd (crazy questions designed to trick the children not test their knowledge) 6. They give students with the ‘proper’ textbooks an advantage (if you have the same textbook as the manufacturer of the test, the students have seen some of the material before). 7. They make students take additional tests for their company research. (EX. 22% of the new high school EOC in English are research questions which do not count toward the score of the EOC.) 8. They use product placement (ex. Mug™ Root Beer, IBM™, Lego®)
