Good day all. Today I am mourning the passing of my dad yesterday from the complications of a stroke he suffered six weeks ago. He is now at peace and free of the pain that he has been living with. He was a 21 year WW2 Veteran. As a dad, he was the best, never once broke a promise. He once promised my son a foul ball from a Giants game at Candlestick Park, and some how he came home with that ball. He always put his kids and family ahead of his own needs, and cared for my mom when she became ill without a single complaint. If you saw the movie The Notebook, that was my dad. I could go on for ever, but suffice it to say, he was truly a great man. Anyone who knew him loved him. My sister and brother and myself were lucky he was our dad. He was eighty-nine when he passed, and I was so grateful for all the years I had him in my life. I know in my heart he has been reunited with my mom and brother, and is smiling down on all of us. Donald Mendes Jr, he asked about you a couple months ago, wondering how Go Go was doing. He was truly an amazing man, and today I will celebrate his wonderful life. I will miss him, but knowing he is out of pain will make this much easier for me. God Bless you Dad, you are loved and already missed.
