Good day, and welcome to grateful day 5. 1) My Dad, Robert Ernest McDermott - for teaching me how to fix stuff. He was a great mechanic, and although we didnt see eye to eye for most of my life, and by the time we did, he passed away, I still learned most of the things that serve me today. I tore apart and fixed a toilet tonight - and maybe its odd, but it makes me think: Thanks Dad. 2) Reading to my son and using all of the silly impressions and voices that I learned to love while watching the Muppets and Seasame Street. Its crazy fun and a talent that is no longer useless. 3) My coaches: Andrew, my business coach - who teaches me more every year about myself, and how to be more effective. Been dodging pendulums like crazy lately. Cabel McElderry who understands the gym industry like no other and really has helped me a ton. Scott McMillan, who, although he isnt my triathlon coach since he retired from it - still is a key influence in how I train myself and others. And my group coaches: all of the athletes, friends, coworkers, and people I meet - there is something to learn from everyone. I am now supposed to nominate someone. you know what - if you read these gratitudes and feel moved to try this - go for it. Its worth it to remember the good stuff each day. Add my name as a thanks on your first one, and I will read yours every day.
