Good day my friends and followers Today is Sunday 9, June and I have been looking so forward to a day of rest, church, fellowship and rejuvenation! This writing is for those of you that do not believe that God Gives us what we need, and for those of you that believe God does Give us what we need! So I go to service at the First Baptist Church in Shawnee this morn at the 10:45 service and it was wonderful and the people were warm and welcoming. The sermon was on Marveling; on the time when the Roman approached and asked Jesus to heal his servant who was paralyzed and Jesus himself was marveling about the Roman Centurion’s Faith in him and his belief that If Jesus said it that it would be done. The jist of the sermon was to have faith that if you need something ask and you will receive if you believe. The music was wonderful and the service was great however, at the end of the service and the final Prayer the pastor said “you are Dismissed”? Then it was like a late afternoon summer college course and the professor said that is all for the day and all made a mad dash for the exits? I was stupefied, where was the after church fellowship, where was everyone going…..I was hoping to mix maybe even have lunch with someone? I left with a heavy heart but resolved to stop by during the week and ask privately what was the protocol was there fellowship after the evening service? So I get in my car strip off my tie and put in a cd and I am cranking the music (loud). As I am going by a nearby park I see a FEMA truck in the corner of my eye and a gathering in the park with music….so I make a quick u-turn and park and as I walk up closer to the people I see it is a worship service and there is a choir singing (southern Baptist competition singing) and there are tables laid out with women just waiting for the service to end to serve up lunch, love, and fellowship! I got there just in time for the sermon on “marveling” : yes you heard me same topic with just a little more fervor and a lot more Amen`s and Halleluiahs! This sermon spoke about how when Jesus met the Samarian woman at the well and she marveled at the fact that he knew her, and how the disciple’s came upon Jesus and the woman at the well and marveled at his ministering to a Samarian. The jist of this sermon was “you are qualified” If you have Jesus in your heart don’t judge and don’t be judged because faith and acceptance of Jesus qualifies you to testify and be and “Go”! And I witnessed, sang, told my story, ate, made friends, and enjoyed fellowship. After I helped to cleanup and exchanged information with the Pastor I meandered over to the FEMA station. You may remember that I photographed the exit I take every day and vowed to get over there and check on them and share my skills and story of love. Well the two workers I sat with told me they knew the neighborhood and had been over there repeatedly also that the people were getting the resources that they needed and deserved. Amen! And so now I was Marveling at Gods work in my life and his acting in rapid fire mode to my needs. Request, prayers and heart! I left with a heavy heart from one service and he took me to another and said didn`t you hear it the first time…”if you ask I will respond” so he hit replay and drove my car to the next service and I heard him, the second time and then my request about the people in the pics I posted from my exit he said Oh yeah “already took care of that too” now go and take some time to enjoy what I just did for you so you can go back out this week and do what I told you to do! And I heard him and I marveled! What say you? I say Amen and halleluiah! thanks for following along
