Good evening- we are pleased to announce the (near) completion of the church renovation at the corner of 12th and Connecticut. We have been diligently working along with many skilled tradesmen over the past year to transform the 147 year-old church into a home to lease. The modest building was constructed just after the Civil War by abolitionists who had high ideals of social justice coupled with their faith. The congregation was Free Methodists and worshipped in the building for over a 100 years. In the early 1960’s the congregation sold the church. It appears various Pentecostal congregations worshipped there until we purchased it in 2013. It will begin a new life this year as a unique home to live in. We will have an open house and participate in the Final Friday festivities July 25th from 5:00 – 9:00 pm. Rena Detrixhe will have an exhibition entitled Passages inspired by the space, its history & future as a home. Our friend Kim Brook will help us welcome you.
