Good evening! As many of you may already know, several student groups will be organizing a Martial Law Remembrance/Commemoration Initiative on September 22-26, 2014. In line with this, the organizations currently involved in the initiative will be meeting on Friday, 4:30-6:00PM at the Sanggu Room to be of knowledge of each others initiatives so that we can see the overall plan of this campaign. In line with this, we are inviting other interested student groups to take part in the LS-wide initiative. If your group can contribute something to the week-long celebration, we are excited to have you in the team engaging the Ateneo Community and our society. Please do send representatives to the meeting, which will more likely finalize the flow of activities. So far, the represented and participating student groups are as follow: ADC (ADS, AEA, AEUSS, A-Stat, ENTABLADO, Devsoc, APAIR and The Assembly) SOSS Sanggunian MCA (LFC and CoSA) FFC (c/o Cluster Head) GRIDS CRUSADA IgniTE, in discussions in this group, has also shown interest in being part of this initiative. The initiative is supported and overseen by the Office of Student Activities. The Rizal Library has also shown interest in participating in the campaign. For everyones information, this initiative was primarily inspired by a challenge from VP Vergara during ADCs courtesy call with him several weeks ago for a more active response to recent incidents touching the issue of the Martial Law, and to contribute to instilling a deeper sense of memory and understanding among the student body particularly regarding the history of the Martial Law.
