Good evening. As well as some sunny spells, heavy, slow moving showers have been affecting many parts of the UK this afternoon. There have been some particularly lively showers across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, East Anglia and Hampshire, where they have been thundery, and some thundery showers are currently affecting areas just to the north and north west of London. Some of todays showers have also produced quite large hail. Showers will continue to affect many parts of the UK this evening and into the early part of tonight, and some may still be heavy and thundery. Through the rest of the night, far northern and eastern parts of England and south western and central western parts of Scotland will continue to see quite frequent heavy showers but elsewhere they will gradually become fewer and further between with more in the way of dry spells. The showers across northern parts of England will slowly slip further south into the midlands but will ease as they do so. Meanwhile, some further showers will spread across southern parts of Wales, south west England and central southern England during the early hours of Tuesday. Light west/north westerly winds for many, but more variable in direction across Scotland and northern England, will mean that any showers will be slow moving. So if you do catch any of these showers they may take some time to clear. Clear spells in between any showers will allow conditions to become quite cold with the risk of some frost patches by dawn across rural areas of northern and eastern Scotland, central, eastern and north western parts of England and eastern parts of Northern Ireland. Temperatures will widely fall to between and 3 and 5 degrees but will hold up at 5 to 7 degrees close to western coasts. Tomorrow will again bring showers for some parts of the UK but generally more in the way of dry and bright conditions for many. Your full forecast will be up a little later. Matt.
