Good evening, I know everyone is anxious to get our signups - TopicsExpress

Good evening, I know everyone is anxious to get our signups underway and the TYB board and Committees members have been working diligently to get the signups, uniforms and other league items underway. TYB has been working with the Greater Route 50 board and Pony Baseball to resolve a boundary issue that was presented to TYB from Tom O’Connor PONY Baseball West Region East Zone Division Director. Pony has used the following rule, PONY Rule 1-G-(2): “… no other organization league shall be permitted to operate within the boundaries established for the current season.” Simply put, Trinity can register their programs with Greater Route 50 League, however players on their teams from outside the “grey” area of Amity/Amwell (the old Trinity South), are ineligible for PONY sanctioned tournament play. However, given the aforementioned history, players from McGuffey School District and players from the old Trinity South program are from “grey” areas and are permitted to participate in PONY sanctioned tournaments with either Greater Route 50 League or Washington Youth Baseball. To put this as simple as we can, all players from Trinity West, Trinity East, and Trinity North are not eligible for to participate in the Greater Route 50 All Star Pony World Series Team. Any Athlete from Trinity South Elementary area is eligible to participate in the Greater Route 50 All Star Pony World Series Team. This rule only affects our Pony team players at this time. This does not mean players from the other Trinity schools are not eligible to participate in our regular league play and any other tournaments that we decide to go to. We have fought this rule posed on us by Pony for several months and all avenues have been exhausted at this point in time. We want everyone to know that we at TYB feared an unfavorable ruling from Pony and that is one of the reasons we felt combining with the Renegades was a great opportunity for our athletes. We believe as our program continues to grow it will give all age groups more opportunities to play in tournament style play that will create a much more memorable and a greater venue then the Pony League World Series Tournament. As our program grows we would like to create an all Star team through the Renegades to represent TYB at tournaments such as the Cal Ripken Tournament in Maryland for example. This is just one example as to what we would like our All Stars to achieve. We understand that this rule change and the Pony League World Series might hold more value and meaning to some parents. We understand that this may affect where some of you to choose to play. Remember this, the Greater Route 50 All Star Team is a tryout based team and there are no guarantees that your son or daughter will make the team. Once the team is selected it has to win two separate tournaments to ultimately be granted a seat to play in Washington at the Pony League World Series. The other Pony Sanctioned Team in the area is also a tryout based team and there will be no guarantees there as well. In closing we at TYB will continue to fight this imposed rule, but in the meantime we ask that you stay with our program and have your son or daughter try out for the Renegades. There will be plenty of opportunities for other tournaments that will be more meaningful than the Pony League World Series. Sincerely, Trinity Youth Baseball Board
