Good evening, all. If you thought the end to last week was cold, - TopicsExpress

Good evening, all. If you thought the end to last week was cold, well....things get even colder tonight and tomorrow. Lets get into it! Secondary cold front passed through the Commonwealth this afternoon as winds really begin to crank up from our NW. The downward trend in temperatures started very early today. In fact, our high of 37º here in Bowling Green occurred at 12:53 am. Since then, colder air has filtered into the state throughout the day and will continue into tonight. TONIGHT: Cold overnight lows in the mid teens will be expected across #SOKY with winds from the NW around 5-10 mph. This will give us wind chill values in the single digits through tomorrow morning. A few scattered flurries/snow showers will continue till around midnight or so. Little to no accumulation is expected. TOMORROW: A possible record cold day lingers for BGKY Tuesday. A cold and dry day will prevail as plenty of sunshine breaks out by tomorrow afternoon. However, highs will struggle to reach the upper 20s during this period as blustery NW winds persist. Much like Monday, wind chill will be a factor again with values in the single digits in the morning hours and mid teens by afternoon. TOMORROW NIGHT: Not a lot changes by Tuesday night. Mostly clear skies win out as temperatures drop back into the upper teens. Blustery and cold conditions will continue for another night with wind chill values in the lower teens. Nonetheless..very cold. Of course, being exposed in these conditions without the proper attire for an extended period of time can be dangerous....and life threatening for humans AND animals! Remember, if youre cold out there...more in likely they will be too! Have a great night and stay warm out there! ~ Chris
